The Sudan Archive: Held by Durham University Library Archives and Special Collection

The Sudan Archive at Durham University in the United Kingdom was created in 1957 to preserve both official and personal documents from Sudan under the Anglo-Egyptian Condominium (1898-1956). It also holds records since SudanĀ“s independence up to the present day. The Archive houses over 400 separate collections of organisations, individuals and businesses. Besides printed documents, the archive holds sound recordings, maps, museum objects and photographs. Moreover, the collections include Mahdist materials.
